Semilla Cafe Officially Opens A Record Store

REVISITING OUR VINYLS + FRIENDS PARTY AS WE CELEBRATE THE LAUNCH OF HARTFORD’S NEW RECORD SHOP.

As we look back on 2023, one of our favorite memories has to be our Vinyls + Friends party with Semilla.

Our co-host transformed the bright and open coffeehouse into a hub for music lovers and analog audiophiles alike, celebrating the official opening of its record shop. Nestled in the back of the cafe, vibrant yellow cabinets showcase a robust collection of vinyl records, reasonably priced to make the medium accessible. Semilla has quietly sold 12 inch discs before, but now, the cafe is confidently claiming its spot as Hartford’s go-to record store. This project was supported by Nicholas Olmo, Max Gigle and Eric Otero who constructed the record cabinets, sourced the inventory and helped catalog, respectfully.

To commemorate the launch, Vinyls + Friends welcomed Uncle Joe’s Records, Pressing Plant, Yankee Vinyl, Little Lost Records, and other collectors alongside Semilla’s own menagerie, attracting an eclectic and passionate crowd.

Travel back in time to our Vinyls + Friends party in the gallery above.

Be sure to visit Semilla at 1283 Main St in Hartford.
