Sights and Sounds of Creative U
This past weekend, Creative U, brought together Connecticut’s community of creative entrepreneurs and artists. Established by Sweet & Sounds and in partnership with the Connecticut Office of the Arts, the robust program offered an experience like no other. Held in the heart of New Haven, the immersive two-day conference provided attendees with the college experience they wished they had. With Beyoncé-approved creative director Joe Perez as a keynote guest, the bite-sized university was teeming with valuable educational and professional resources from career fairs to hands-on workshops.
Creative U “graduate” and handbag designer Romeo says the program could not have come at a better time as they “are trying to take their creativity more seriously” as they build their line of handmade bags into a thriving business.
Interdisciplinary artist Clo The Sublime emphasized the necessity and value of community-building events like this, sharing, “Networking with other creatives has been my favorite part. It’s so amazing to see the different avenues everyone is taking, whether it’s composing music or fashion.”
Attendee Andeja agrees, adding, "I'm loving the events today. I've learned so much and have met so many beautiful people. I feel like this is a space where the creative energy is flowing, I’m so inspired. If you missed it, you really missed out on a good one. Please make sure you come for the next one!”
