ON EARTH HARTFORD + FUNNYBONE RECORDS = MAGIC

GET READY FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE MUSICAL EXPERIENCE AT THIS YEAR'S FESTIVITIES, CURATED BY NONE OTHER THAN FUNNYBONE RECORDS!

We had the pleasure of sitting down with the mastermind behind Funnybone Records, Dylan Healy, to hear all about his thought process when curating this year's On Earth Hartford’s lineup. But that's not all - we also got the inside scoop on everything you need to know about Funnybone Records, and what makes them the go-to source for all things music!

ANGEL DAHFAY: Can you tell us about Funnybone Records?

DYLAN HEALY: Funnybone Records is a community-based record label and concert promoter. We've been producing records, community journals, concerts, and events out of Hartford for six years now, and have no plans on stopping any time soon. We think the music, art and literature coming out of Hartford is very special and want to see it thrive and reach people around the world. Our efforts also include press campaign management, advertising, licensing, and connecting creators with the spaces, equipment, collaborators, opportunities and resources they need to achieve their visions. Oh, and our mantra "no jerks allowed."

ANGEL DAHFAY: Why are you excited to partner with On Earth?

DYLAN HEALY: After partnering with On Earth last year, we were so excited for another opportunity to provide the festival's music lineup. It's so meaningful to see everyone come together for Earth Day, and we're thrilled to be a part of the efforts to celebrate our community's civic engagement, volunteerism, and boundless creativity. I'm really looking forward to attending the visible mending workshop, checking out Comma Vintage's latest thrifts, and Cafeteria's Fill Your Bag Record Sale.

ANGEL DAHFAY: When curating this amazing lineup, what was your thought process?

DYLAN HEALY: My intention was to book a lineup of artists that promote wonder and peace (both inner and outer) through their music. I find all of these artists awe-inspiring in their own right, and I believe their wide array of styles can soundtrack moments of peace, belonging, and celebration for anyone in attendance. It felt imperative to select a headliner that would connect with the surrounding neighborhoods' Spanish-speaking communities; I believe Lau Noah's music and energy are perfect for that.

ANGEL DAHFAY: Why should people be excited to experience this lineup?

DYLAN HEALY: Mark Little and djqt are so skilled at performing invigorating sets that get people moving and grooving. They mesh different styles in a way that connects people with all types of music tastes.

I saw Ángel Loor perform a solo set a few months ago and was really blown away; I'm really looking forward to seeing his full band set.

When I try to describe the feelings Lau Noah's music evokes, words feel futile. Lau is next level...her profound musicianship, lyrics and poetry, kindness and passion are so potent and moving.
