OPEN STUDIOS MAKES ITS WAY TO NEW HAVEN
THE ELY CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY ART, NXTHVN AND THE YALE SCHOOL OF ART JOIN FORCES.
New Haven will be treated to a weekend of local art and culture as Open Studios kicks off on April 5th and 6th. Open Studios is a city-wide collaborative event designed to make art accessible to the community. The Ely Center of Contemporary Art, NXTHVN and the Yale School of Art are coming together this year to showcase some of the region’s best work.
From 12 - 6pm, visitors of the Ely Center will be able to meet the current Keyhole Artist Residency cohort. The Spring 2025 roster features Issac Canady, a New Haven-born and raised self-taught artist, Cynthia Celine, a local oil painter, and Jean-Pierre Solis-Sánchez, a visual designer and artist. Meanwhile, over at Yale, attendees can view the work of participating MFA students, specializing in graphic design, painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture.
On Saturday, April 5th, NXTHVN will provide an interactive family-friendly program in tandem with Curatorial Fellow Rigoberto Luna’s exhibition All At Once | Reflected Through Glass. On Sunday, April 6th, Luna will give attendees a special walk through of his work.
