RECAP: MAROON
MAROON IS ANOTHER NOTABLE EXAMPLE IN THE CONNECTICUT EXPERIENCE WHERE THE COMMUNITY CREATED SOMETHING FOR THE LOVE OF THEIR COMMUNITY AND WE LOVE TO SEE THEM SHINE DOING SO!
Connecticut is the place where if you want something to happen, you have to make it happen. A “teach a man to fish”-state.
As a whole, Connecticut’s not going to be a state that hand-feeds you things. Unlike other cities, you can’t always walk two blocks and get a bacon, egg, and cheese and a [redacted].
When it comes to Connecticut you sometimes have to make the bacon, egg, and cheese yourself (and if and if hard times come, you may have to take out a rib.) Maroon is another notable example in the Connecticut experience, where people had to create it for people. Where the community had to create for the community. To add not for greater clout or notoriety but just for the community itself. It's not the next discotheque that's really run by cocaine-hungry billionaire bears. It's just a group of people who want to make something that really speaks to them and sends their soul, and watch how people naturally commune with it. Connecticut is a place where, you know, if you make it, they will come.
And Maroon is really a place that I just want to keep coming back to. Go check it out every third Thursday at Semilla Cafe+Studio
