THE SWEETS & SOUNDS CONVENTION IS ALMOST HERE!!

SWEETS & SOUNDS ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES 2ND ANNUAL SWEETS & SOUNDS CONVENTION AND CAFETERIA MEDIA IS HERE TO GIVE YOU ALL THE DETAILS YOU NEED TO ATTEND

Who is Sweets & Sounds Entertainment LLC?

Sweets and Sounds Entertainment is an organization dedicated to celebrating and centering BIPOC combining food, music, design, and art to create one-of-a-kind experiences. Through online content and in-person events, Sweets & Sounds has been stewarding culture in Connecticut.

Sweets & Sounds has announced its second annual Sweets & Sounds Convention 2023 (S&SCon 23), a safe place to celebrate creatives of color and their work. This one-day event will feature workshops, networking opportunities, and live panel discussions composed of industry experts. S&SCon 23 will take place on Saturday March 25, 2023 in New Haven, Connecticut at NXTHVN.

The featured panel discussions announced today include the Boss Up Panel moderated by CTNext’s Executive Director Onyeka Obiocha, featuring young entrepreneurs in fashion, beauty, journalism, and personal fitness discussing both the good and not so good experiences in building their brand over the years; and the Creative AF Panel moderated by our very own Ashley Raymond, featuring an incredible selection of creatives from various disciplines discussing the highs and lows they experience in today’s creative industry and society.

S&SCon is an annual convention geared towards the professional advancement of creatives of color in Connecticut. S&SCon allows creatives to learn about careers in entertainment and art through workshops, networking opportunities, and live panel discussions composed of industry experts. Most importantly, S&SCon is a safe space to celebrate creatives of color and their work.

“I, like many others, noticed how many Black and non-Black People of Color (BIPOC) artists in the area were being left without opportunities, funds, and support,” said Angel Dahfay, founder and creator of Sweets & Sounds Entertainment, LLC.  “We’re living in a time that actively forces creatives to minimize our dreams in order to fit into the circumstances around us. It’s time to change the circumstances to fit our dreams.”
