ONWARD: FW23 EDITORIAL C/O THE CAF & AMID TERRAIN
ONCE AGAIN, THE HARTFORD-BASED BOUTIQUE, THE CAF, HAS PARTNERED WITH AMID TERRAIN TO PRODUCE A MULTI-BRAND EDITORIAL THAT HIGHLIGHTS SOME OF ITS MORE TECHNICAL PIECES FROM FALL/WINTER.
With a shared desire to highlight the innate functionality of select brands and their designs, The CAF and Amid Terrain have connected for a second time since their inaugural editorial was released in 2023.
Through their separate and collective projects, The CAF and Amid Terrain are forging a physical community around themselves off the back of a mutual appreciation of clothing. Despite its material nature, it has brought these like-minded people together for the greater good, allowing individuals from all backgrounds to participate in community-led events, activations, and product-focused installations.
As far as the editorial is concerned, NANGA and and Wander, two new additions to The CAF this season, are the leading brands involved, while returning contemporaries Gramicci and Afield Out return into the mix, each bringing their own technical POV on clothing to the equation. While NANGA and and Wander are more clean-cut and function-focused, Gramicci and Afield Out occupy the outdoor-inspired space with traditional, yet elevated, silhouettes.
Featured styles include the Mountain Lodge Down Jacket by NANGA and the Field Vest by and Wander. The aforementioned are fine examples of technical clothing that have been fine-tuned using Japanese techniques and materials. The Mountain Lodge Down Jacket, for example, is insulated using high-quality down feathers sourced by NANGA themselves and ensures maximum heat retention. and Wander’s Field Vest is just one example of the brand’s design capabilities and acts as an accessory that can be worn underneath a down jacket, like NANGA’s, that offers easy-to-access storage.
Additional pieces included are the Polartec Fleece Blouson by NANGA, the Stripe Balaclava and Nylon Utility Pants by Afield Out, the Boa Cap and Salomon XA Pro 3D collab by and Wander, and the Sherpa Jacket and Combination Pant by Gramicci - all of which are available from The CAF’s online store.
While The CAF and Amid Terrain have forged a relationship thus far based on visual output, they plan to take things to the next level soon with plans for a small capsule collection. Stay tuned to hear more about that. In the meantime, each piece is available to purchase now from The CAF by Cafeteria’s online store and Hartford, Connecticut boutique.
