The celebration of jubilation
A WHOLESOME EVENING THAT COULDN’T HELP BUT MAKE US FEEL LIKE FAMILY.
A lovely and loving event that started not necessarily awkward but a little stiff. You could see everyone feeling each other's vibe in a very kind way. The energy in the room was peaceful and exciting; everyone was dressed so nicely and we were all ready to start this event. We had drinks and lightly chatted about topics of life and work, art and the world, but as dinner came around and we all settled in our seats the energy changed (in a very good way). Thanks were given to those who curated a very dear event and eventful evening. I have to say it felt more like family than mere friendship at the end of the thank-you speeches.
As drinks were downed and delicious delights delivered we felt those original ties that bound us to the axe of awkwardness shifted to a relaxing “ahhh” and awesome. As the night turned and stomachs settled we turned up too.
And remembered why we turned up to see each other. Awkward feelings fell to ashes and all thanks to the sweets and sounds provided by a family of the same name we felt connected even more.
We found more likenesses by the end of the night than that of apart and as we danced to music in the third act of the evening the room was lit up with smiles and cheers of celebration.
So to that, cheers to another year.
And happy Juneteenth and Jubilation.
We hope to see your smiles next year.
:)
