REVOLUTIONIZING SAFE SPACES: SOULFOOD SUNDAYS

SOULFOOD SUNDAYS: MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE PLATFORM BRINGING SAFE SPACES AND DOPE EXPERIENCES TO THE COMMUNITY.

Soulfood Sundays is a brand that focuses on providing safe spaces for creatives and delivering unforgettable experiences for the community. The individuals behind the brand are Jah, Ecka Gee, Director Edwin Escobar, and IdolMir. Their mission has evolved over time, expanding from catering to their home in CT to a global vision. In this interview, they share the most enjoyable part of their work, how their mission statement has evolved, and what we can expect from Soulfood Sundays in 2023.

ANGEL: Who are the individuals behind the brand Soulfood Sundays?

JAH: The individuals behind the brand are myself, Jah, the creator of the platform and the main individual who runs our social media pages. Ecka Gee who is the producer of the SoulFoodSundays Show and first official team member. Director Edwin Escobar who films most of our big time projects / promo commercials and IdolMir who runs our Street Team.

ANGEL: What is the most enjoyable part of curating the events and content you create? How has that changed over the years?

JAH: I say it would be meeting new like minded people and introducing the talent we have in CT and beyond. I wouldn’t say that changed but I would say it’s lovely to see the bonds being created between others just from our platform. A lot of creatives come to our events open and ready to find good people to mingle with and I think we provide that big time.

ANGEL: How has your brand's mission statement evolved over time, and how do you see it evolving in the future?

JAH: I think the only thing that evolved with our mission statement would be the thought process of specific location. Yes, we love our people and cater to our home in CT but now, I would say the mission is beyond CT. The mission is global.

ANGEL: What can we expect from Soulfood Sundays in 2023

JAH: You can expect a whole lot of dope things coming! I don’t want to spoil a lot, but we plan to collab with a bunch of other dope platforms this year while trying some new things. You can also definitely expect our brunches to be back in action for the summer which you will not want to miss because we are going to have a bunch of surprises this year.
