A pop-up lets you connect to customers more directly, putting a face to the product which can also eventually boost your online sales
We are looking to help designers leverage our space and connect them to our community, while still expanding our demographic

How does this work?
A dedicated clothing rack in a section of the store
Assistance with merchandising, space set up, and options for installation
Collaborative marketing rollout strategy and support
Periodic sales updates and a report after pop-up event
In exchange, we will collect 30% of the total sales
Please note this rate is less than our 35% going rate for consignment items and subjective change so please take advantage

When can I Pop-Up?
Our goal is to produce two collaborative pop-ups per month
Pop-ups might be one day or several days long. The Caf is open Wednesday-Friday 12 to 8 PM, Saturday 11 to 8 PM, and Sunday 11 to 6 PM

What products can I bring for the pop-up?
You are welcome to bring whatever items you choose.
What is the overall cost of having a Pop-Up?
Although there is no pop-up cost, we do charge a 30% fee on all sales made during the Pop-Up.
How come the sales fee is 30%?
Sales support: Our employees interact with consumers, help to make sales, and promote the pop-up activation; which takes away from promoting and encouraging sales for products we own.
Resources: Additionally, we operate the point of sale on your brand's behalf while utilizing our shopping bags and whatever extra resources the store has to offer.
Logistics: We coordinate the small details and help to carry out the brand's vision. Includes the time it takes to prepare the retail area and the probability of back-stocking inventories to make room for the brands' products.
Can I leave any products to sell in-store after?
Yes, but please coordinate with Josh (store buyer) for approval and onboarding steps.
Is a DJ possible at this event? If so, does the Caf provide the DJ?
A DJ could be featured during the event. Although we don't provide a DJ for the event, we may assist in booking one on your behalf. Please inquire about booking rates.
Do you guys have a speaker system / aux?
Yes, we have store speakers that utilize Sonos software.
Can I have snacks and drinks during the Pop-Up?
You can have snacks and drinks at the Pop-Up.
Can I utilize all of the Caf space?
If you'd like extra floor space, get in touch with us to explore your options. As is, you will be provided a dedicated clothing rack in an agreed-upon area of the shop along with any additional fixtures not currently in use. If needed, we may offer additional mobile clothing racks and hangers.

Will the Caf create the flyers and marketing materials for the Pop-up?
Brands should be prepared to create their own marketing materials but our team is dedicated to being supportive and collaborative to help promote your event. We will provide our branding assets but if you do need a flyer or design support, please reach out to discuss options.
Can the Caf assist with the marketing rollout for the Pop-Up?
To increase consumer involvement, we do indeed promote consistently on the Caf's social media for your event.
Can I do a giveaway for the Pop-Up?
You are free to do any special promotions you see fit.
Is there a restroom in the Caf?
No, however, we do have access to a restroom in a building that is nearby.
Is there access to water in the Caf?
No, although there is a water source just down the street.
Is there a reserved parking spot where I can park?
No, we don't have a designated parking place, however since we are in downtown Hartford, there are many opportunities for street parking, garage parking, and parking lots nearby. The parking in front of the Caf is often blocked by XL events and shows throughout the winter.
Will the Caf assist with the Pop-Up's supplies?
No, although we do have a few things that can be useful in most cases. We encourage you to build a To-Do list 1-2 weeks prior to your event so you are prepared and have gathered any necessary materials on time.
What time would be ideal to arrive for the Pop-Up?
We advise you to arrive two hours prior to the Pop-Up.
Does rain affect foot traffic?
Rain is undoubtedly an influence, but there are many others as well. We make an effort to focus on the things we can control rather than the ones we cannot.
