ANOYD IS OXBLOOD

SOPHISTICATION & RAWNESS, WE TAKE A MOMENT TO LIGHTLY STUDY ANOYD’S NEW ALBUM, OXBLOOD.

From his first EP, Summer in Sinsinati to his latest album, OXBLOOD, times have definitely changed and with that ANoyd’s lyricism has only elevated.

OXBLOOD is a 9 song, 29 minute album that is straight to the point. Filled with flows, bars, and punchlines that once you hear them, you catch yourself making a stank face and saying, “Damn”. That same reaction is nothing new when it comes to consuming ANoyd’s of work. From Chainsaw to Dark Sun he serves us a variation of rawness and swag that make us want more.

The project was produced by several top audio powerhouses like International Santo on The Bird With No Wings, JP On Da Track, and Broadway just to name a few. The production quality on this is truly one for those late night joy rides high off of life, especially in songs like Comprehend and Majin Buu, two of my personal favorites. You can hear the punctuation and stories Anoyd delivers in his cadence alone. Oxblood also brings Chris Webby into the mix on Orangutan, one of the top rated tracks off of the album. Webby and ANoyd frequently come together to make music, including going on tours together.

All in all, OXBLOOD delivers a well crafted story of realizing your power while remaining humble and grounded by remembering where you came from. This is most clearly displayed on the final song of the album Dark Sun:

“If I never got the help I don’t know where I’d wind up / You can live a lot of days but you only die once / So I’m sayin’ hell yeah to sun rays on my skin / I made it through the dark and I can make it through again / Would you be happy with your story if you knew this was the end?”

Oxblood itself is a dark shade of red resembling burgundy, a sophisticated color that without a doubt represents this album. And if you look closely, that is clearly the color of Anoyd’s hair on the album cover.
