‘Midas’ Puts Hartford on The Big Screen
THE NEW HEIST MOVIE IS SET AND FILMED IN THE INSURANCE CAPITAL.
Hartford is making its Hollywood debut as the latest feature film Midas takes place in the bustling metropolis. Filmed, directed and produced by TJ Noel-Sullivan, the new movie focuses on a determined young man as he plans to rob a health insurance company after his mother was denied coverage. Hartford held the title of the Insurance Capital in America for several decades, making the location a perfect choice.
“I knew I wanted to create a film that showcased Hartford in a different light, and it all clicked together when I realized that the mark wasn’t going to be a bank, or a casino, but a health insurance company. Setting MIDAS in Hartford helped to make the concept and characters more relatable, while still being able to incorporate the entertaining elements of a heist film that we’ve all grown to love,” the Hartford native shares.
Midas premieres on Friday, June 28 and will be shown in 20 cities across the country, including Real Art Ways. Although the Friday premiere is sold out, hopeful watchers can catch the film on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30. Watch the trailer below.
