C.I.T.A PARK IS A SUMMER SMASH

IT’S BEEN ONE MONTH SINCE THE BEER GARDEN’S GRAND OPENING ON JUNE 1ST - AND THE HYPE SHOWS NO SIGN OF SLOWING DOWN.

C.I.T.A Park, located at the corner of Orange and Chapel Street, is the city's first black-led, outdoor beer garden and event space. The space is a non-profit collaboration with local foundations including @seeingsounds, @winedownct, @360state, @sweetsandsounds, @tbrevents, and Wherehouse Productions.

The parks grand opening hosted live musical performances by Keila Myles and the Moose Knuckles, DJ Ch’varda, DJ Rawles and featured food and drinks with the support of local businesses like Madelines Empanadas and Uncle Waithleys Ginger Beers.

It was created as a safe place for people of all walks of life to enjoy. In addition to live entertainment, Cita has other opportunities to connect with your fellow community members like giant versions of game night favorites such as Jenga, Checkers and Connect 4. Adults and kids alike were having a blast and there was ample time in between all the dancing for shared joy.

They’ve wasted no time lining up events day after day to make it clear they’re here to stay, and even with this as their first month, the space has already hosted events with a wide range of genres and collaborators.

Impressive DJ lineups and live music performances have made C.I.T.A the go-to for downtown patrons looking for a new experience. First Fridays, artist residencies, and events hosted by the likes of PGLA, WineDownCt & SweetsandSounds are just a few of the events hosted thus far.

Cita’s enthusiasm & willingness to collaborate with local Foundations and event curators have absolutely cemented it as a Downtown staple.

As it stands, June was only the beginning, this summer C.I.T.A. has a lot lined up for New Haven residents.
