Review: The Pilgrimage to Potato Salad

LET 'EM COOK!!

Something so sincerely magical about this side dish. And a side it might be, but in my heart, it takes on the main stage.

We’re talking about Louis’ Lunch’s Potato Salad. If you are a Connecticut resident, it is your right to take the pilgrimage to the birthplace of the burger, but you would be remiss if you didn’t spend the extra $4.25 for the most perfect of accompaniments: The Potato Salad.

It’s not swimming in mayo like most, but rather more thick and rich like a bottle of Heinz (note: don’t even think about bringing ketchup into this holy place). More mashed than mush, which makes me very happy. Light sprinkles of perfectly placed seasoning, but not over-done or over-stayed, and the bits of crushed hard boiled egg gets me , *ahem*. Finally, a lingering of mustard’s tang brings the beat in, but is nothing to fuck just like Wu.

Do your whole home-state a service by buying this side and eat at Louis’ because they’ve been around since ‘95
(1895 that is).
